Contemporary Bible Teaching

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  - Hebrews 4:12

When Jesus walked with His disciples, preaching about the Kingdom of God, He had a unique way of expressing the Truths of the Kingdom in a way that people could understand.  Jesus understood His culture, and His audience -- we call that being “contemporary.”  The Word of God is alive and at work in the hearts of man, and should be presented to people in ways that make it easy for them to understand and respond.  To teach the Bible in a contemporary fashion is to use whatever techniques and technologies are available to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a 21st century world.
